The Fondazione Perugia Musica Classica ONLUS was founded in 2003 to make music: to produce it, disseminate it, increase knowledge and love about it. We naturally speak of classical music – a heritage that, like all the highest forms of culture – from Shakespeare’s Theater to the Sistine Chapel – must be cared for, safeguarded and passed on to future generations. The geographical area of reference is Umbria, a region where the ancient presence of big festivals and prestigious concert societies ensures a fertile ground of culture for the Foundation’s activities. The founding principle which the Foundation intends to be inspired by for the realization of its programs is that of the most strict quality standards of the proposals: the languages may naturally vary, to the extent of the differentiated target audience, but always in compliance with the highest standards of quality. Finally, the Foundation, while acting as an interface between the public of Umbria and the national and international musical world, intends to promote as far as possible the local musical forces that give guarantees of respect for the fundamental principle of artistic quality.
